A splendid fall day in the Arboretum

I am what they say. I’m a tree huggin’, sun lovin’, bird watchin’, dirt worshippin’ little lady…..or that’s what they say, I guess.

In all truthfulness, all I am is just a journeywoman, trying to make this short life meaningful and worth the while. I am traversing through my brief time here making a go at trying to figure out what it means to be alive and how I can live most fully. I am, most truly, the weeper of the unjust and the admirer of the beautiful. I embrace the little surprises and paradoxes that life throws our way. I like to take a good look at myself in the mirror and be honest with myself. Life is too short for illusions. Most of all, I seek to live with compassion, balance, appreciation, respect, and love each and every day. But of course, to live this way is life’s greatest challenge, and I am just as prone to give into my imperfections as the next.

The purpose of this blog is to capture all of which encompasses my thoughts from day to day. This blog is about life. Some things suck. Others rock. Our lives are hot tangled messes, and in my opinion, we humans do a pretty decent job making things muddled. Society interests me endlessly, and there are some social issues out there that deserve some much needed attention. But life is all things– our identities, our experiences, little moments, and our material lives. I hope to tip my hat to all these things, providing a little insight, humor, and personal perspective. Maybe with me, you too can be the weeper of the unjust and the admirer of the beautiful.

Thanks for being on this journey with me.
